Community Partnering

At Walker Hill Finance Home Loans we firmly believe in giving something back to the community that supports us. After all, it is the individuals and family members who make up the core of local communities who have helped us grow and become successful.

Second Chance

Second Chance is an independent nonprofit organization established to address the distressing problem of women’s homelessness. They do not raise money to buy buildings or pay salaries, and apart from the fee for public liability insurance, every cent raised is used to “get women off the streets” and to help them take control of their lives.

This charity is run by an all-volunteer committee and is the only charity in Australia raising money exclusively for homeless women.  In south east Queensland there are 10 times the number of crisis beds for men than for women.  Second Chance is working to change that by funding experts in their field to support and assist women and their children onto the pathway to a home – for life.

Without the support of donors and supporters they could not provide these vital services.  If you would like to donate please click HERE.

Ecumenical Coffee Brigade

The Ecumenical Coffee Brigade (ECB) is an organization established in 1970 by the late Louisa Toogood, a former Anglican nun, who saw a need to minister to the homeless. Each morning, thanks to many volunteers the ECB van is stocked with sandwiches, fruit and warm beverages. The service ensures up to 120 homeless and marginalized people across four specific CBD locations receive a nutritious meal and a welcoming presence, every morning of the year no matter what is happening weather wise.

We would love you to get involved in as many ways as possible.  Donating or volunteering (like Chris and Derrick) or both.  Click HERE for more information.
